thoughts for the end of the year...

I finish the year with a few pieces in the window of Fannie & Fox, Penryn and with a garage full of bits on the way to something.
It's time I got on with it and started working a bit harder. I need to finish the things that have been brewing for too long and I need to get my work out into the world.
Also Open Studios is only Five months away!

So I've written some lists. In fact my sketch book is filling up with lists - things to do and problems to solve. I've been waking up in the middle of the night to write things down as I know in the morning I will have forgotten it.

Now all the Christmas thing is out the way I will get some time to start ticking things off maybe.

Lights on a dark day

Just back from the office. Its dark and cold but had to go out in the garage and look at something I poured yesterday  And I'm glad its dark and cold because it made it all the more exciting - lights!
I have embedded some led's in a block of resin. And I love what they do. Think I'm finding a way to use lights at last. Can't do anything with it yet but have stuck it behind some of the beetles to see the effect. Thinking I will start building with sheets and blocks of resin. Lights...ah I wanna stop working now and play!

sanded and polished

Sanding and polishing resins in my room whenever I have a moment spare. Sort of boring but also quite lovely seeing the things come out of the mist when I finish them. Thanks to Beethoven and Brasso.

more resin... more insects...

My hands smell of resin. The insects are nearly all done and the ones I poured a few weeks ago are cured enough for me to handle without getting caked in the sticky stuff.

Doing some other things too like these spindle berries. Be glad when all the resin is done for a bit so I can tidy up and start putting things together. Not sure whats going to happen next but there are lots of things lying about on their way somewhere
